Palenick hearing set for Aug. 6

A hearing on former city administrator Jim Palenick’s wrongful termination lawsuit has been scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Judge George Eichwald is scheduled to hear oral arguments supporting motions for summary judgment from both Palenick’s attorney, Daniel Faber, and the city beginning at 9 a.m. at the 13th Judicial District court building.

Eichwald has four probable options he could take as a result of the hearing. He could issue a summary judgment ruling for one side or the other,  rule for one side or the other, or schedule a trial for the suit, after the hearing.

Faber said Palenick does not plan to attend the hearing.
