Pearce: Energy issues will help GOP
Saying "we'll win on the issues" such as energy use, U.S. Senate candidate Steve Pearce and other candidates helped open the Republican Party's "Victory '08" headquarters in Albuquerque on Saturday.
Pearce, congressional candidates Dan East and Darren White, and Bernalillo County district attorney candidate Lisa Torraco spoke to about 50 volunteers who will largely be working phone banks for various GOP candidates from the office on McLeod Boulevard in Albuquerque.
Sandwiched between morning and afternoon strategy sessions, the candidates addressed the volunteers during a barbecue lunch break.
